I am begging you to please cover your eyes. If not put on sun glasses. The star that is “Fair Mike” is about to explode and could set your eyes on fire.
Mike Ezuruonye, the fastest rising star in Nollywood history is also the top dog grossing more than 5million a year in movies sales. That is huge.
Born
in
Lagos
“Fair
Mike
“as
his
fans
call
him
affectionately
is
the
oldest
of
four
siblings.
Mike
Ezuruonye
has
one
of
the
most
accelerated
rise
to
stardom
in
Nollywood.
From
his
early
entry
into
movies
through
Broken
Marriage,
Critical
Decision
and
Emotional
Blackmail,
the
sky
seems
to
be
the
limit.
The
graduate
of
Accounting
surely
makes
the
waves
in
Nollywood
to
the
extent
that
ladies
directly
tell
him
they
are
available
in
case
Mike
is
not
seeing
any
lady
at
present.
Since
his
early
movies
Mike
has
also
starred
in
‘Occultic
Kingdom’,
‘Beyond
Reason’
and
‘Dying
for
Tomorrow’.
After elementary and secondary schools, Mike enrolled in Nnamdi Azekiwe’s University and got a degree in Accounting. He found a job at one of the biggest Accounting firms in Lagos and was happy to settle down and begin a family with his childhood sweetheart Lola Obafemi.
“What for you will see your face”, and so it was with Mike. The temperature was around a hundred degrees in the shade. Steam rose from the concrete streets of Lagos. Ugar and Cash madam tried to keep cool but even the generators broke down in this sweltering heat.
The concrete jungle called Lagos was drowning in sweat that fateful day in January 2003. The thermostat on Mike’s 1999 BMW fizzled and the car overheated. “My, my, my,” Mike thought to himself. “What kind of bad luck is this one “he wondered?”
He rolled up into the gas station and open up the hood of his car. Because one cannot eat crabs with shame and therefore cannot fix cars without getting dirty, Mike did the one thing that changed his fortune forever. He took off his shirt.
Clad in a tight pair of blue jeans, white Jordan’s and muscles glistening under the hot midday African sun, Mike look more like a model at a shoot then a mechanic. One sister at the nearest pump missed her gas tank and poured gas all over her feet staring at “Fair Mike”.
Famous movie director Acquilla Njimah too was hypnotized by the sight that was Mike Ezuruonye half dressed. He offered Mike a part in the movie “Broken Marriage” and the rest was history.
Next followed was one of the highest grossing African movies “Critical Decision” which established Mike as a household name in Lagos and abroad. Some of his other hits included “Occultist Kingdom”, “Beyond Reason” and my favorite “Endless Passion”.
I am not saying forget Ramsey and Van. What I am saying is the future belongs to Mike.
So here’s hoping as the summer draws near and the season for shorts sets, halter tops and miniskirts blossoms, all you girls and guys find love in all the right places and do try to be like Mike.
Live well and prosper. Peace out
